Ratchet — the improvement loop

Put your product on autopilot.

Ratchet listens to your monitoring tools, turns problems into tasks, builds and tests the fix, and waits for your approval before anything ships.

  • Runs on your own AI key
  • Tested before proposed
  • Nothing ships without your approval

The loop

One loop, from signal to shipped

Four steps, on repeat. Every turn makes your product a notch better — and a notch is never lost.

01

Connect your tools

Sign in with GitHub, connect Sentry, Amplitude and Clarity. The loop starts watching immediately.

02

Signals become tasks

A crash, a funnel drop, a rage-click — each lands on your board, prioritized and framed in plain language.

03

It builds and tests

The agent writes the change and proves it in an isolated preview. If the tests don't pass, you never see it.

04

You approve, it ships

Review the before-and-after, tap approve. Nothing goes live without you.

Night shift

It works while you sleep.

Signals don't keep office hours. Neither does the loop.

  1. 23:41

    Sentry reports a checkout crash

  2. 23:44

Ratchet frames it as a task and prioritizes it

  3. 00:12

The agent writes the fix in a safe copy of your code

  4. 00:19

Tests pass in an isolated preview

  5. 06:12

    Waiting for your approval

You wake up, review the change, tap approve. That's the whole job.

Two ways to run it

Bring a dev team — or don't.

Autopilot

For founders without a dev team

Ratchet is the build crew that waits for your go-ahead. It builds, tests, and ships improvements — you stay the owner of every decision.

  • Builds and tests every change itself
  • Explains proposals in plain language
  • You approve from your phone

Management mode

For product teams with developers

Ratchet writes the specs, files the issues, and tracks the goals — your developers build, you run the strategy.

  • Specs with acceptance criteria, written for you
  • Tasks hand off as GitHub Issues and sync when they close
  • Goal tracking and stakeholder updates, drafted automatically

Trust & control

Autopilot, not auto-anything.

Ratchet moves fast precisely because the guardrails never move at all.

You are the gate

Every change stops at your approval. Review the before-and-after, then ship it — or send it back.

approval required · no exceptions

Tested before you see it

The agent proves every change in an isolated preview with automated checks before it's allowed to reach you.

Your own AI key

The coding agent runs on your Anthropic API key. Your code and prompts don't route through Ratchet's AI.

Scoped GitHub access

Ratchet touches only the repositories you connect, and works in safe copies until you approve.

Common questions

Asked and answered

What is Ratchet?
Ratchet is a product development platform that automatically collects signals from your monitoring tools — Sentry errors, Amplitude funnel drops, and Microsoft Clarity rage-clicks — and converts them into a prioritized task pipeline. An AI coding agent then proposes and tests a fix for each task, and you approve the change before it ships.
Is Ratchet fully autonomous? Do code changes ship without my approval?
No. The human-approval gate is central to how Ratchet works. The AI agent writes and tests a proposed change in an isolated preview environment, then presents you with the before/after result and test outcome. Nothing goes live until you explicitly approve it.
What monitoring tools does Ratchet integrate with?
Ratchet currently integrates with Sentry (crash reports and error trends), Amplitude (funnel and retention analytics), and Microsoft Clarity (session recordings and rage-click heatmaps). GitHub is required for code access.
What does 'bring your own AI key' mean?
Ratchet runs the coding agent using your own Anthropic API key. You pay Anthropic directly for the AI usage at standard rates. This keeps your code and prompts out of Ratchet's infrastructure and avoids any terms-of-service conflicts with the underlying AI provider.
Who is Ratchet designed for?
Ratchet is built for non-technical and semi-technical founders who want their product to improve continuously without having to manage a development team. Ratchet scaffolds and hosts your product environment, so the agent can make changes safely within a controlled scope.
How does the AI agent test changes before proposing them?
When the agent writes a fix, it deploys the change to a throwaway preview environment and runs automated checks against it. Only after verifying that the fix does not break existing behavior does it surface the proposal for your review.
I have developers — does Ratchet still help?
Yes — switch a product to management mode. Ratchet still watches your signals and frames the work, but instead of building, it writes the spec and acceptance criteria, hands each task to your team as a GitHub Issue, syncs when the issue closes, tracks progress against your goals, and drafts stakeholder updates. Your developers build; Ratchet runs the loop around them.
How much does the AI usage cost?
Ratchet runs the coding agent on your own Anthropic API key, so AI usage is billed by Anthropic directly at their standard rates — Ratchet adds no markup. Most products spend a few dollars per shipped improvement; you can watch usage in your Anthropic console at any time.
