Releases & staging pipeline
A task’s last three stages are the release path:
- Reviewing — the change is ready for you (or your team) to look over.
- Ready for Release — reviewed and approved, waiting to ship.
- Deploying → Live — Ratchet merges to your production branch and waits for the deploy to finish; the task lands in Live only once your deploy action reports success. Repos with no deploy step land in Live as soon as the merge settles.
Merging to staging
Moving a task from Reviewing to Ready for Release merges its change into your staging branch, so approved work accumulates there before it goes out.
The release train
Shipping staging to production isn’t automatic — you trigger it yourself when you’re ready, so nothing reaches your users without a deliberate go-ahead.
